About a girl

Well Kate, in all honesty, I did not say women are impossible! I think the little visual aid I posted did show , in a perhaps amusing manner, the glory of women - and I admire women greatly, on the whole (Miley Cyrus , not so much at this particular time).
I once read a Saul Bellow novel, a long book, in which the forward action of the plot moved about .000000001 of a second in time (it seemed) BUT every little step forward in the plot was described in terms of all the ‘side-issues’ that were the point of the book - all the romances, the life lessons, the characters, the families - all that stuff together explained the slight forward movement.

The ‘side-issues’ are what women would call the real point of the book. I found it exhausting to read and kept thinking, with each ‘diversion’ from the plot - “Oh, what fresh hell is this?”

The ‘diversions’ were female in the best sense - the inner workings, the stories, the feelings, the ‘life-stuff’ that women seem to sense in even the simplest statements of their friends and lovers. I will say something to my wife, and she will return a question that appears to not even have a bearing on what I said. She will explain it, and I never, on the basis of my straight-ahead-male-thinking, would have gotten there.

IMO women have a richer understanding of the world.
We men are not just knuckle-dragging neanderthals, or mere trousered apes, of course - I mean we still have our place, however tenuous that may be - don’t we  - but a world without women - what would be the point?

.

 Well, Dave, Johnny was the culprit of calling us impossible (which, indeed, we are. ) But how you describe men is precisely why we women find you all so confusing. For one moment, we think we’ve got you all figured out – good food, sex, and fart jokes (all of which women are actually pretty fond of, too. ) But then you all go and confuse us by shedding the “trousered ape” get-up and proving yourselves to be quite sensitive, level-headed, and intelligent – making us women wonder if perhaps we’re the neanderthals after all.

And you’re welcome, Yeshua. I know things will work out for you – with you either finding this to be a wonderful relationship or learning a lesson that will make your next one just that much better.

I honestly wish I were born gay.
I could completely forget girls and their extraordinary complexity.

As a scientist I like emergent phenomena and I can assure you that there is nothing more complex that the consciousness emerging from a female brain.

Okay, it was very romantic, wasn’t it? :sunglasses:

Hmmm people are complex in their emergent complexity  I’ve know some very puzzling complicated men and some very transparent and open women (and the contrary is also true  ) As you will lads

Of course, I was speaking only in general :unamused: Exceptions, there always are…

I think from this discussion we can conclude that all of us – men and women, alike – are complete and utter basket cases.

Apologies in advance for the risque flavour of this, but -

Q: What do you call the useless piece of skin on the end of a man’s penis?
A. His body.

  Oh, Johnny.

Ahem. Sorry. Back to being a lady now.

Tell me Kate, do you find my remark above highly romantic?

I really need to know.

Anyone this post was a good way to lure you back into the forum

I don’t know about Kate, Lotharson,
but I think you’re quite the Lothario!
(So sorry, I really couldn’t help myself)

And do remember that Kate is my virtual goddaughter  And I am mean :smiling_imp:

Q: How many men does it take to wallpaper a room?

A; It all depends on how thinly you slice them

I think you’ve earned yourself a new nickname, Lothario, I mean Lotharson.

And you better behave yourself around my Godfather Dick – When he biffs ya, you stay biffed!

.

You’re welcome. And, yes, that tends to happen quite a bit around here.

I took a break from my vacation from EU to post here, because helping another twenty-year-old with the agony of relationships seemed a worthy cause – and then I stayed on this thread, because considering the other members who posted here, things were pretty certain to get a bit off topic… and quite funny. And I was right.

But in all seriousness, Yeshua, I will be praying that you’ll find yourself with keen awareness and an open heart to discerning God’s guidance here. I know wherever you find yourself, it will be for your ultimate happiness. As the Garth Brooks song goes, “Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers.”

Blessings to you – and good luck with your second semester!

Kate

Well, hello then, Neil. I prefer Neil, myself – After all, I already know a Yeshua but I haven’t before met any Neils.
