Brad Jerzak is a thoughtful U.R. Bible teacher who can go against the grain:
"The One who said love, pray and bless your enemies is not on āour sideā. To be clear, threatening to bomb cultural sitesā means targeting houses of worship. If this kind of āroaring 20sā means roaring rockets and death dealing, letās leave out blasphemies that associate such acts with Jesus Christ.
Read carefully: from James 3:
āWisdom from above: is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering; it leads to peace and is sown in peace.ā
If we start at only 2002 with our statistics - and that leaves out 9/11 and all the terror activity back to 1970, we do see a tad bit of terror activity worldwide. Now Trump is going to be responsible when - not it - terrorists strike again?
There were thousands more in the years before 2002, including 9/11
Randy - you can find the sources here:
This site gives different figures -because of different definitions - but who is counting? We all know that Iran is the fount of terrorism in the world, and will continue to be. Taking out that bad guy does help however.
Between 1969 and 2009, there were 38,345 terrorist incidents around the world. Of these attacks, 7.8 percent (2,981) were directed against the United States.
Trump is obviously not responsible for terrorists. But those confident in his approach to the conundrum of the Middle East need to engage the reasoning of Dr. Reitan and other doubters such as McManus:
Iāve often praised Trumpās instincts against trying to control the Middle East, but Iām skeptical that the hawks around him are not pulling him into the very hole he has clear-headedly resisted.
No, I often explained that. Most Trump skeptics arenāt pacifists. Many served in the military.
TRUMP: āTheyāre allowed to kill our people, theyāre allowed to use roadside bombs and blow us up, and weāre not allowed to touch their cultural site? It doesnāt work that way.ā
SEN. MURPHY: āTargeting civilians and cultural sites is what terrorists do. Itās a war crime!ā
" I was delighted to hear that Iranian scumbag and General Qasim Soleimani met his end in a ball of fire thanks to a missile from a US Reaper drone. This is good news; this is very good news. We should all be very grateful that we have a President with the courage and patriotism to order the death of QS. I have long bemoaned the fact, and I stress fact, that we in the West have not been at war with the Islamist craziesābe they Shia or Sunniābut we have been under attack. In other words, they have been at war with us, while we have allowed ourselvesāas a ruleāto suffer attacks and outrages; we have crippled our ability to respond thanks to the goodness of our societies, our kindness towards strangers, our tendency to paralysis through analysis, by trying to anticipate every outcome, every consequence of what we might doāa hopeless task.
There at times when you must just act.
Now is the time openly to tell the Iranians that we do not want war, but they should want it much less. We should openly tell them that we will dismantle their oil production, their ability to generate electricity, to distribute water, to conduct financial operations, etc. We should tell them that their navy and air force are forfeit in the case of an action against us, and that we will degrade their ability to conduct all types of military operations. We will smash their proxy forces without mercy. On the other hand, we are open to talks with Tehran and stand ready to discuss all topics without preconditions. Meet us.
We also should quietly, once the current cloud of dust settles, tell the clowns in Baghdad that we are leaving. They are not worth the life a single American."
"I just donāt care that Trump is not a perfect conservative. While we wait around to find one, the country goes to hell. I will say the same thing about Johnson. Both men have tapped into the unease and discontent of average people who see their culture under assault, their values ridiculed and labelled as racist, their jobs exported, and their children taught rubbish. Both men seem to have some practical solutions that might just work in the real world. Certainly deregulation and tax cuts have done wonders for the US economy and, I suspect, they would do the same for Britain. If Scotland and N. Ireland donāt want to participate, fine, thatās on them. As I have said before, were I English, I would support Scottish independenceābetter said, I would support Englandās independence.
Reading āI could care less about Trumpā at the start of the second paragraph of this article written by someone who almost certainly couldnāt care less about Trump, I decided the rest of the article may be just as carelessly written and so ended my further search for gems of wisdom from Ms. Ashamed To Be An American. (By the way, sheās a legal proofreader!)
Call me a grammar snob if you must, or even point out that I am guilty of an ad hominem attack, but, please, what is the logic of that nonsensical expression āI could care less,ā when it is obvious that the person writing or saying it means āI couldnāt care lessā?
Is Mr. Trump a second Christ (āChristā means āAnointed Oneā)? Was Mr. Trump anointed by God to be President of United States? Could he be the Antichrist (which means āinstead of Christā)?
Well gee the House could have subpoenaed these so called witnesses but they said that Trump was so dangerous they had to impeach him before Christmas. Non stop lying by the Dems & the beat goes on.
āTrumpās base accepts that he is backing out of the Middle East firing, not firing to get in. How strange that his progressive opponents damned Trump for not exercising preemptive choices in Turkey to protect third parties, and damned him more for taking reactive action in Iraq to protect Americans.ā
