How To Live Under An Unqualified President by John Piper

As the Church lady would say, "Could it be…SATAN!!!?

Did Trump say anything “interesting” today?

Let’s help him out, shall we? And identify the “fake news” experts.

Yes, the president now concedes that our Covid-19 deaths WILL likely exceed the poo-pooed prediction of 100,000. My hope is that it is no worse than this, though it’s not yet evident that the virus has been very effectively contained.

“As President Trump presses for states to reopen their economies, his administration is privately projecting a steady rise in the number of cases and deaths from coronavirus over the next several weeks, reaching about 3,000 daily deaths on June 1, according to an internal document obtained by The New York Times, nearly double from the current level of about 1,750.”

“Far right”? Isn’t that another name, for the Trump base???

Randy - it is the Left that is exploiting this; it’s obvious. But that’s your BBC.

OTOH -

" We are currently in the third wave of the left’s attempts to totally deconstruct America into the image of the leftist utopia. There is no love of this country or its traditions or its Constitution among the left. Remaking it into a radical ideological hellhole is leftists’ only objective.

The impoverished and criminals are sacrosanct and must be preserved. They enable the corruption and absolute power the left craves. Two classes, the rulers and the ruled, constitute the society that the left requires. This is absolute evil, and it is the way the world has functioned for centuries. They have history on their side.

America has been the prime exception to this history. Personal freedom and free markets have made this the greatest economy and the greatest civilization in the history of mankind. We have defeated fascism and communism. Without us, the world would be an unbearably horrible place to live. It is only because we love God and freedom. That’s it.

Since 2016, there have been three mortal attacks against these beliefs. The left has attempted to continue Obama’s (and Soros’s) transformation of America away from its destiny as a savior of humanity into a prison of slaves ruled by their elite masters.

The first attack was a continuation of Obama’s weaponization of the government, in orchestrating a coup d’état against the newly elected president. This started with the attempt to subvert the Electoral College by threatening the delegates. It ended with the Mueller investigation, the most corrupt government enterprise in American history. It failed, but it distracted the administration and delayed enacting needed policy.

The second wave was the impeachment of the president by the House of Representatives, based on zero evidence. From falsified testimony (called satire) from Rep. Adam Schiff to phony “whistleblowers,” whose testimony was taken in secret and withheld from the public, this was an obvious sham from the start, quickly killed in the Senate. But the damage was done. More distraction and delay.

The third wave is not the coronavirus, but the reaction of the left. Leftists desperately need to destroy the American economy and American lives and livelihoods in order to enact their agenda by any means necessary. It is obvious that the governors and mayors of red (conservative) states want to save small businesses and local economies by opening them up. But blue (leftist-run) states want to kill their economies and the middle class in their states to create economic chaos, which they believe will facilitate the election of more leftists, including a socialist-friendly president."

Well, I trust NEITHER the right nor the left.

I Don't Trust You, The New Coach Reality - CoachingSportsToday

But I trust science, when it is accurately reported.

Even “science” re Covid is unsettled and evolving.

I said something similar, in either this or the COVID-19 thread. And Bob agreed with me.

Sure, driving us all broke is a convincing way to garner my vote

Bob agreed? That would concern me!

Bob agreed here. And my post was just before his.

Bob’s reply:

And here’s an interesting Yahoo news story.

So Bob, what is your opinion of Mr Pence? You may have stated it but unfortunately I may have missed it.

I’m still trying to figure out what’s wrong with Trump! Other than made-up stuff that has proven to be - made up! - he’s doing a great job. Why would we think of kicking him out of office?
Especially for Joe Biden and whoever - Stacy Abrams? Or the nutjob governor of Michigan? Or that new-agey Marianne Williamson? They just don’t have anyone serious. Unless they can convince people by ‘fake news’ - and that IS a thing - their quiver has no arrows. This is who could beat him. But not because she is qualified. You know why.

Nothing. Modern culture has been unfortunately inundated with politically correct idealism. Trump is an idealist, and a real idealist for real working Americans. His understanding is outside the PC crowd, and we are seeing the ramifications of two hugely different world views. NOTHING IS WRONG WITH TRUMP. HE IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY PAST PRESIDENT. He is different as they all were.

The reasoning in the essay linked to below is, I think, sound. YMMV. The past few years has NOT been about Trump; the issue is much bigger. I’m convinced we are in fact at a threshold.

One of his conclusions follows; then the link if you want to follow his reasoning:

" The saddest thing of all is that we might well be on the threshold of a do-or-die, now-and-forever moment here. After our free 30-day (and counting) trial of Communist tyranny and the onset of economic catastrophe to come—not to mention the systemic Deep State lawlessness confirmed by the ongoing Flynn document releases—can any serious person contend that this country isn’t now at a crossroads—an inflection point where the only choice is between abandonment of any hope of a restoration of some semblance of Constitutional liberty…or acceptance of our position as serfs, as slaves?

The situation presents us with a stark question: if not now, when? If the extended lockdown—the exercising by state and local officials of an authority that they clearly do not possess, or not legitimately—doesn’t suffice to stir at least the Three Percenters into open revolt, then what will? How much tyranny is too much for Americans to tolerate? Is there in fact no “bridge too far,” no line our ever-more-brazen masters need fear to cross?"

Let’s do this! I’m sure the BBC would agree. It’s about transparency.

Put Biden’s Senate archives online and crowdsource them like happened with Sarah Palin’s email archives

U. Delaware says the archives won’t be fully curated until spring 2021, just a few months after the 2020 election. Speed up the process, release now what is ready, then follow the Palin process where numerous media entities had readers crowdsource the contents.

Well, I put things this way. Trump is far from perfect. But Biden is much farther from perfect. Too bad Bloomberg didn’t make it, instead of Biden.

Since Dave mentioned the BBC, let’s see what’s new there today.

Things are surely getting weird, in the land of the free.

And China fires back.

As the villain always asks the detective, in the TV shows:

Ok, ok I’m done for now lol

The opinion this implies is that each time Pence and Trump minimize how long this challenge will last, or its’ small scope, my opinion is that they display that they are (understandably) wishfully naïve.

And how much is this costing us, so far?
