How To Live Under An Unqualified President by John Piper

Interesting short history of voting. Clip:
"In the 19th century, voters either registered in person once and for life or government registrars compiled lists of eligible voters and registered them automatically. “Good government” progressives replaced that with periodic in-person registration in order to deter repeat and out-of-state voters—the very fraud today’s progressives say doesn’t happen.

Political parties used to give voters ballots with the party’s candidates—and only those candidates—for voters to cast. Progressives replaced the party ballot with the government-issued secret ballot we know today, featuring multiple candidates for different offices. They did this not to offer voters more choices, but to discourage the illiterate from voting.

Today, the progressives say they want to expand the franchise even though their affinity toward government-by-expert renders elected offices null.

One suspects if they felt they could legalize pre-marked ballots, they would.

But for now, they will settle for mailing a ballot to every name on the poorly maintained voter rolls, recruit an army like the newly hired contact tracers, help the less-motivated, illiterate, confused, deceased or non-existent recipients fill out the ballots, then collect and return them.

If you have a problem with that plan, you’re not one of today’s progressives.

You’re one of the originals. "

Was a little surprised that this was not commented on. Of course, it’s not anti-American so doesn’t get as much air play.

Now, this is interesting.

Trump is better than Biden. But Bloomberg would have been better than both combined.

Friends, we really need to pay attention, imo, to this type of thing - Twitter is hugely influential and my mind boggles to think any of us thing they are anything other than partisan hacks and deceivers.

Bloomberg had the advantage of wanting to deny soft drinks to people, and not wanting anyone but cops having weapons.
I think he comes up way ‘short’ of being even close to a viable candidate, but that’s just me.

"Democrat Michael Bloomberg’s presidential run should concern Americans who care about freedom.

In New York City, Bloomberg developed a reputation for being a “nanny state” mayor.

And now Bloomberg just made this jaw-dropping statement in response to one heroic act.

Michael Bloomberg is using his billions to pursue a vanity campaign for president of the United States.

And one of his chief missions is identical to the one he had a mayor of New York: gun control.

Bloomberg has been staunchly opposed to the Second Amendment for a long time, pouring millions of dollars into anti-gun activism.

If he’s willing to ban large sodas—which he did as mayor—he would get rid of guns in a heartbeat if he could.

Recently, Jack Wilson, a retired law enforcement officer and firearms instructor, saved dozens of lives by killing a shooter who had a sawed off double-barrel shot intent on murdering a churchful of parishioners.

While most lauded Wilson as a hero, Bloomberg and his ghoulish gun-grabbing cohort quickly downplayed the act, and tried to spin it as a rational for more gun restrictions.

When confronted with the notion that a good guy with a gun saved dozens of churchgoers, Bloomberg responded:
That may be true. I wasn’t there. I don’t know the facts that somebody in the congregation had their own gun and killed the person that murdered two other people, but it’s the job of law enforcement to have guns and decide when to shoot. We just do not want the average citizen carrying a gun

This is the sick mentality of people like Bloomberg and the Left in general.

Control is more important than liberty and actually saving lives.

Bloomberg said it’s the job of law enforcement to have guns, but it was a former law enforcement officer – that Bloomberg would want disarmed – who had the gun that saved everyone.

Legal gun owners, who vastly outnumber illegal gun owners, have that same capacity.

That terrifies the Left because an armed populace is much more difficult to control."

I like that, I’m somewhat in the same place. It is a tough political landscape these days. And that makes it hard for those who are not LEFT or RIGHT to have any real conversation with the hardliners from both sides pounding. They understand black and white, while I tend to think in shades of grey.

What’s new from the BBC?

From Morning Brew:

Looking ahead… the order is almost definitely going to face court challenges. It invokes the First Amendment, which experts say doesn’t apply to private companies. And others question Trump bossing around independent agencies (like the FTC and FCC).

I can visualize Twitter, LinkedIn (owned by Microsoft), Facebook, ACLU, Google, etc., initiating several court challenges. And Democrats and some Republicans, having a field day. And this is very interesting.

And perhaps Trump should study, these keys for reopening.

Footnote: I normally share stories from the BBC news, Morning Brew, Weekly World News, and Patheo’s Catholic and Evangelical newsletters. I find their stories to be reliable and cover, a wide range of issues.

From http://www.diogenesmiddlefinger.com/2020/05/tank-abrams-wants-to-nullify-your-vote.html

Alinsky 101: “Always blame the other side for what you, yourself are doing…” There’s so much PROJECTION coming from this clown that he should change his name to BELL & HOWELL.

Any attempt by Republicans to ensure the integrity of elections by eliminating voter fraud is called “voter suppression” by the Democrats. Having your vote count is a right. Double voting, voting by dead people and illegal immigrants nullifies our rightful honest vote. So yes, we need to suppress illegal votes. Under mail-in voting you have no way of verifying that your vote was counted. There is no double-check like in-person voting. You only have trust in liberals who are open with their efforts to steal the election that your vote got counted.

You can steal almost any local or state/congressional with enough provisional ballots. Blue states representatives have been in frenzy to get “Same Day Registration” with no ID so they all they need is enough foot soldiers. With all-mail there is no way anybody is going to check all those signatures vs. the rolls. And in the cities with one-party rule they wouldn’t even try.

No voting system is perfect but best by far is directly voting in person. Anything which takes your eyes off your vote is wide-open to corruption. Any programmable voting machine involved is really bad since you have no way of knowing what it’s programmed to do. Stalin himself told the world that it’s the ‘people’ who count the votes that matter – that was before vote-rigging machines were created.

The UK has ballots by mail and I’ve read about endless problems, inaccuracies and fraud in connection with this process. Western Civilization provides for taking care of almost all business in person and with a government issued ID. The obsession with mail in votes on the left has but one goal. To try to overrule the will of the people again!

I wonder if CNN, will blame Trump for this? Perhaps he’s pulling a few strings, to make this happen?

In grew up Republican, switched to Democrat for many years, granted a moderate, very close to the middle. But when democrats lose power, they act just like Republicans when they lose power. They lost me, forever. This last 4 years has been watching a bunch of toddlers complain about an “orange” man. They violate their lofty principles just to hate the “orange” man. They name call, poke fun of weight, looks, comments, English, etc… All things that they claim they are against. They claim to be Democratic, but try and censor that which they so not like. Bunch of adult children who have no integrity.

Never again will be side with a Democrat. That party is as lost as the Republican party. Maybe even worse.

Both are "losers’. As an independent, I try to pick the lesser of two losers. Which of these two prospects, would make the better candidate?

They (CNN) will find a way to write 15 articles, all on the main page to link this to Trump.

Why don’t we all give props to DT for the past week?

“The man is amazing; he gets things done!”

While the MSM works tirelessly to make Donald Trump out to be a buffoon, over the last week he did the following, but you probably won’t hear about it:

1. Made vaccines voluntary not mandatory. Military will check purity and distribute vaccines

2. Defunded WHO forever and wants an investigation into its operations

3. Cancelled the Democrats HR666 bill, known as the Covid19TRACE Act that was the basis for Bill Gates’s diagnosis and tracking project, which was also cancelled.

4. Cancelled Bill Gates project known as ID2020

5. Opened a complaint platform to report censorship on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It was overrun with complaints. They got the evidence.

6. Executive Order to reopen states: Governors who refuse to reopen will be sued.

7. Executive Order for W.H. to take over all Electrical Grids: Which will include Internet servers, Broadcasting systems, Electronic systems.

8. Declares places of worship ''Essential Business"

According to Yahoo news, there a white house battle taking place.

The text of DT’s executive order, protecting you and me from those who ignore and pervert the First Amendment. I would think the following excerpt would be acceptable to all, but of course that would be la-la land thinking.
Excerpt:
In a country that has long cherished the freedom of expression, we cannot allow a limited number of online platforms to hand pick the speech that Americans may access and convey on the internet. This practice is fundamentally un-American and anti-democratic. When large, powerful social media companies censor opinions with which they disagree, they exercise a dangerous power. They cease functioning as passive bulletin boards, and ought to be viewed and treated as content creators.
…these platforms function in many ways as a 21st century equivalent of the public square.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube wield immense, if not unprecedented, power to shape the interpretation of public events; to censor, delete, or disappear information; and to control what people see or do not see.

As President, I have made clear my commitment to free and open debate on the internet. Such debate is just as important online as it is in our universities, our town halls, and our homes. It is essential to sustaining our democracy."

Thoughtful, thanks for giving your reasons.

Now, this is interesting. Trump withdraws from the WHO. But I know China has pumped in a couple of billion dollars or so, into it.

And we have another President Trump appointee.

Thank goodness we are out of the WHO, at least until they prove themselves to be fair and not corrupt.
That was your money and mine going to that organization, and getting hammered by their dishonesty.
