Well, technically Jesus did speak in another tongue, once when He raised a 12 year old girl and when He was on the cross, but that was Aramaic, with was a known tongue native to that area. But that’s not the same thing, is it?
I’ve seen plenty of things happen without the need to speak in tongues.
Besides Jesus didn’t instruct his disciples to speak in tongues, He just commissioned them to do go out, preach the Gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead, and they came back with a good report. But then Jesus told them don’t rejoice because the demons obeyed them, but that there names are written in heaven.
I don’t need to read the book, I’ve experienced that already. It’s more important for me to learn to walk in the fruit of the Spirit in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such is no law. I’m more interested that people know the Giver than the gift.
