Priesthood

The following is one instance of ordination in the New Testament.

Acts 13:1-3 Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyre’ne, Man’a-en a member of the court of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

Elsewhere, the Apostles ordained elders–but here, Paul and Barnabus appear to be ordained by the congregation.

I still have lots of questions about The Church (that I hope some here might help me answer), but I found this article (on “The Priesthood of All Believers”) interesting, and I’d like to know how many of you here would agree with the basic premise?

I agree with the basic principle. All believers are priests, with Christ as our High Priest. We serve under Him as ministers to the people to reconcile them to God.

Thank you Sonia.

Please see other thread (on “Questions About The Church.”)

I’d be very interested in any thoughts on the issues raised there.
