Something to look forward to

I had a good meeting with his [Konstan’s] co-author, Ilaria Ramelli, at the patristics conference in Oxford. She is writing three major studies relating to apokotastasis in the early church. She’s been researching it for thirteen years so far.

Ooo I can’t wait, hopefully its as impressive as J.W. Hanson’s “The First 500 Years”( a book written in 1899). I think its about time for an update

A more sober and detailed update to Hanson (in effect) would sure be helpful and appreciated!–even if it ends up concluding a more minimal patristic footprint.

I have no problem, or expectations, either way. So my only question is, where do I preorder?!

Oh I wouldn’t be surprised if this research showed that UR was the majority view, I mean if Augustine can say,

“There are very many (imo quam plurimi, can be translated majority) who though not denying the Holy Scriptures, do not believe in endless torments” (Enchiria, ad Laurent. c.29)

then I do not find it hard to believe that Universalism was the early church’s prevailing belief on eschatology and not just a minority view.
