The message concerning the Son of Man seems to be something like this: When we start looking towards God and honoring the man who walks in righteousness, aspiring to be like Him instead of aspiring to be like those who walk in the ways of the world, then we will see a change occur.
I would like to think that “Son of Man” is a declaration of solidarity with humanity, so that whatever is true of us is true of Christ, and whatever is true of Christ is true of us.
Yes, and I think what it says about the Son of Man is this: the Son of Man(with capital letters) starts out walking with God in His word and His ways.
Because we have the tendency to sin, corruption slowly sets in. Those sons of men who seek power and glory only for themselves take over and trample the other sons into the ground, where they become like dust under their feet. The world gets turned upside down. God was teaching these lowly sons of men, who had been cast underfoot, how to become glorious Sons of Man. He gave them the truth, the authority, and the courage to rise up in righteousness and take the helm, making them the head and not the tail. This is the right order of things on Earth.
