Apostles of Reason: The Crisis of Authority in American Evangelicalism is the title of a book written by Molly Worthen.
In this interview, she discusses some of the things she encountered in her research for the book. I think the interview is worth a read just because it’s interesting in its own right, but also because I see some parallels between the development of modern conservative evangelical thought and the development of such ideas as orthodoxy and the traditional view/ doctrine of hell.
Mel, Roger Olson’s blog on Patheos presents his take on this interesting book, with reactions from others.
I’ll have to check that out; thanks Bob.
