Attempts at verse cld be better cld be worse

I discovered this section only a few days ago . wonderful idea Matt and wonderful poems and lyrics by everyone!

Below is a repeat I first put on Matt’s opening of the poetry section but since realise to share each other’s poems each new poem is entered as a new topic. So here we go again with the same short poem taken from my “Attempts at Verse, Could be better could be worse” collected over the years!

Beneath the stars,

My eyes upon a darkened hill,
The planets stop, the stars are still.
I kneel to pray and pause to stare
And close my mind that I may hear.

As soon my thoughts begin to clear
So soft your voice, I barely hear
But sense your special presence near
While there you stand in prayer to share.

Curiously in writing it here again I felt it was one that “could be better”, and have made few small modifications hopefully for the better!

(wrtten feb 1991 from notes some time in 1990 out in the hills at night, so clear you felt that you could touch the stars,! )
