Beauty Like The Sun

Beauty Like The Sun

God’s glory is like the sun
Bringing warmth and beauty
Making visible all lovely colors
While it burns with passion
Bringing forth life in the seas

It burns with a flaming fire
And scorches with fierce heat
Making one blind in the eyes
Melting away life in flames
In skies, mountains, and trees

God’s glory is like the sun
Though infinitely more powerful
In intensity and it’s strength
In it’s joys pleasures and pains
As it destroys yet it frees

In the morning breeze it shines
Burning it’s intense Beauty
Lighting the pathway of many
Bringing an everlasting hope
As all the evil darkness flees

While the glory (beauty) of Christ is more along the lines of the type of beauty of sunsets and children, (not the physical beauty of lust of a woman) nothing really compares to the glory of Christ. The analogs point to a deeper reality of Holy Eros. Holiness is what sets God apart from His creation and creatures. For example, God’s love is a holy love His wisdom a holy wisdom, His Justice a holy Justice. He’s distinct. There are ways we are like God and ways we are not.

The desire is a bond. Like one has between parent/child, husband/wife.

Bond = Union

This is a pointer to the greater ecstasy of the new birth. The ecstasy of giving birth. While not exactly the same.

Giving birth in ecstasy: this is our birthright and our body’s intent. Mother Nature, in her wisdom, prescribes birthing hormones that take us outside (ec) our usual state (stasis) so that we can be transformed on every level as we enter motherhood. This exquisite hormonal orchestration unfolds optimally when birth is undisturbed, enhancing safety for both mother and baby. Science is also increasingly discovering what we realize as mothers- that our way of birth affects us life-long, mother and child, and that an ecstatic birth, a birth that takes us beyond our Self, is the gift of a lifetime.

The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him and to each other in an ecstasy of love and delight compared with which the most rapturous love between a man and a woman on this earth is mere milk and water. ~~ C.S. Lewis
