Proverbs 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
Proverbs 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
Would…this count as a contradiction? 
I think it was said with a wink and a nod. Wisdom is not a matter of rules, but of discernment.
I read it like this:
“Do not answer a fool according to his folly in such a way that you become like him, but answer him according to his folly in such a way as to make him see his foolishness.”
