This poem is about death and resurrection. “Wood encased” represents a coffin and, of course, a violin. “He raises me…” is the resurrection. “draws fire bow…” represents God’s refining fire. And “…plays a timeless waltz” is no time, or, as I had in mind all in all. Also, I was intrigued with the idea of “timeless” waltz, as the waltz is the only music, that I know of, known for its time signature, 3/4 time.

Wood encased
I lay
in the hands
of the Virtuoso
He raises me
to his chin
draws fire bow across
love tuned heart strings
and plays
a timeless waltz
