Forced Into Universalism

There is more than one possible way to interpret the word eternal in the Bible in reference to hell. Which one is correct? Consider this:

What is God’s desire? The salvation of all. It follows necessarily that all will be saved. For God always accomplishes His desire. Every knee will bow and every mouth confess Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. Moreover, this answers the questions of those who haven’t heard of Christ and helps bring resolution to the problem of evil and suffering. We are forced into Universalism.

basically: yes
nice and concisely put. that was a part of my journey, for sure, but you’ve found some great scriptural backing for my vague memories and feelings about what i’d read over years with a really bad memory lol

Dead right.

I especially like your Jeremiah quote: “The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back until He has performed and accomplished the intent of His heart; In the latter days you will understand this”.

There’s no question about the fierce anger of the Lord. We will reap what we sow, all of us, but God’s anger will “turn back” when it has “accomplished the intent of His heart” (a heart full of grace and compassion.) Everyone will come to understand this, sooner or later.

Well done, Cole. Great post!
