HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I am thankful for all of you today. I hope everyone overeats today, and enjoys time with their family. BTW, I’ve heard that the original thanksgiving celebration was a celebration of the feast of Tabernacles, but was moved by FDR.

Happy Black Friday Eve!

Kidding, of course. Happy Thanksgiving to you too, redhotmagma (cool username, by the way). And to everyone else here!

(Not surprised about FDR. Been doing some reading on the man in recent days.)

My username is from Dr. Evil in Austin Powers, although I messed it up its actually liquidhotmagma. I picked it for an online video game years ago, long before I came to UR. I’m not very creative and just used it again when I joined tentmaker, not even thinking about the irony of it. Its totally my personality to take a name like that to kind of flaunt, or taunt with the true meaning of God’s fire, but I didn’t do it consciously. I love little “coincidences” like that, I think God has a sense of humor.

Happy Thanksgiving all, have a great one!
Dr. Eeeeevil, I love it red!

Okay so George Washington made the 26th of November the offical day of Thanksgiving. So it wasn’t FDR. I can’t find any hard evidence that Thanksgiving was originally based on Sukkot. Its a good story anyway  Enjoy all.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone  God does indeed have a sense of humor, Jeremy

If anyone missed, here’s some thoughts about Thanksgiving that I wrote on my blog:

Let me know what you think

Blessings to you all

i think this is really strange…this isn’t the first site i’ve been on where people are talking about Thanksgiving…which falls on the 2nd Monday of October.
you lot are more than a month late! :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

corpselight: That’s because Thanksgiving is celebrated in November here in America, and a number of us who use this site like myself live in America  this year, it was celebrated on November 24th. My tummy full of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes is proof

blessings to you

Matt
