Hebrew 6:7

I know that is rather an uncommon section to defend universalism:

Hebrews 6:7.8

*Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. *

when you burn a field you do not want to destroy it, neither do you burn it everlastingly; but you burn it to grow new plants afterwards - therefore the burning is remedial, the land seems to mean men in this analogy - what are your thoughts?

Really, Hebrews 6 is a chapter completely dedicated to defending universal salvation, Hebrews 6:1-3 is talking about the elementary principles of Christ, and verse 4-6 along with verse 6-8, why? Because the author is not talking about the gaining or loss of salvation, he is talking about the gaining or loss concerning the things which ACCOMPANY Salvation (verse 9). Which echos 1 Corinthians 3, in which there is only one Foundation upon which all mankind build their lives some know and some don’t, those who know build rightly while those who don’t build poorly, each man’s work (the things that accompany salvation) will be tested by the Day of Fire if anything remains they keep as reward, if they suffer loss, they are still saved but as one who has gone through fire.
