How Do ECT Proponents Interpret This Verse?

Rev 5:13 And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”

I can’t answer for every ECT proponent, but what I would have said a few years ago would have been something like:

Just as with the ‘every knee will bow, every tongue confess’ passages, some will be forced to do so, against their will, even though they continue to hate God.

Sonia

I would’ve thought it was referring to non-human creation, especially since it says ‘thing’ or at least humans giving praise by virtue of their created existence, rebels or no.

Anyway, the common interpretation that Sonia gave really bothers me. In more ways than one.

Indeed.
