.. How do you explain the "Narrow Gate"

What if Universalism is the narrow way?
The Bible is clear that the narrow way is one that leads to Life? How many people do you know are really living the abundant life that Jesus promised? I want someone to explain to me that it means heaven. I just don’t see it?

We’ve been talking about this recently in some other threads. Different universalists have different answers.

It shouldn’t be too hard for you to find the other discussions and join along with them, Jeff. There are search tools for that, and (unless someone macroposts a bunch of quick topics all at once  ) they should be on the first couple of pages of the “view active topics” list (the link to which can be found on the second line under the site banner on every page, including this one.)

My understanding is that the narrow path which leads to life is “abiding in Christ”, that is staying in submission to him, and observing the instructions He gave in “the sermon on the mount”, being like the wise man who builds his house upon the rock.
“He who began a good work in you will be completing it until the day of Jesus Christ”. Those who stay on the narrow path are Christ’s true disciples, who have “forsaken all to follow Him.” They form a very small percentage of the world’s population, and they will find LIFE. Thus, in the resurrection, they will be raised in the resurrection of life, and be with the Lord forever. They are the overcomers who will not need the purifying fires of hell. But those who are on the wide road to destruction are the vast majority of mankind. They will be raised in the resurrection of judgment. They WILL need the purifying fires of correction, and perhaps God’s direct intervention and those of His saints, to lead them to repentance and submission to Christ. This could take a relatively short time, or in some cases a very long time, perhaps ages. In any case, all will ultimately, of their own free will, choose to submit to the authority of Christ, and also be with Him forever.
