How do you pronounce Hosea Ballou's name!?

So this may be a silly question but I was wondering is anyone knew how to pronounce Hosea Ballou’s name.

Is it: ho-ZAY-uh ba-LEW (like the name of the bear in the Jungle Book)?
Is it BA-lew?
Is it ho-ZEE-uh?

Just curious lol

I have no idea how he himself wanted it pronounced, but I do use the first option which is a reasonable guess.

In a private communication from the Earl of Glouchestershire, I was assured that the first option is indeed perhaps correct. :smiley:

For what it’s worth, one of my friends has the last name Ballou. He pronounces it “ba-LEW”, like the bear in Jungle Book.
