At least with media to which I subscribe, I find they deliver excellent information about the virus, appropriate measures to take, and the questions that remain about it. A possible qualm for me is that there is such a ream of info in my mail and inbox that it can foster a bit of paranoia, when hopefully it will just reinforce each of us taking prudently wise measures, and trusting the rest to God.
I agree. This is why I primarily subscribe to BBC News, Morning Brew, and Weekly World News.
The best thing to do, obviously, is only pay attention to sites who dump on Trump, right? Because he cannot do anything right. And Europeans are oh so fair and balanced.
Just sayinâ - if you want to get the truth you have to work for it. Europeans have their own problems, bigger than ours.
The BBC sometimes dumps on Trump. If you have a writer, who doesnât like him. But more of their articles, IMHO - are really Trump neutral. And Morning Brew and Weekly World News never dump on him.
In fact, Weekly World News had a positive spin - in their recent story.
Let me quote a bit.
Vice President Pence invited Bat Boy to the podium in The White House Press Room to announce his negative test results. Bigfoot, his Vice Presidential running mate and Ph.D., Ape, his campaign advisor joined Bat Boy for his announcement.
And these recent BBC stories, look Trump positive - or at least Trump neutral. .
I get the feeling that you and Bob think if two different sources have different narratives, that they cancel each other out? Of course, we ALL want the truth (unless it is a compendium of good that Trump has done, which Bob wonât even acknowledge - fair and balanced? lol) - but sorry to say, I work at it harder than you do. Doesnât mean Iâm always right BUT I do think it is possible to find that truth, and no amount of BBC waffling opinions have much to do with it. Their bias, as Europe as a whole, is blatant. I have to read them of course, but I donât find their opinions worthy of much discussion.
I hope youâre happy with the senile Joe Biden as your next president. lol
I never said I would vote for Joe (unless Mike Bloomberg was a VP candidate) . I plan to vote for Donald unless we have a major COVID-19 pandemic. And only if, the other side - has a better plan of action.
As far as the BBC news goes. Well, they have been around since November 14, 1922, So they have stood, the test of time.
I regularly post about good things I believe that Trump has done, and Iâve listed dozens of virtues for you about Trump. Shucks, as Steve notes above, I posted, âI believe the presidentâs strong leadership will solidify his reelectionâ and many other praises of his actions.
I find your constant assertion that I have not, a falsehood.
I donât find that a logical idea at all. Whyâd we assume they cancel? Where did you get this âfeelingâ?
Well, hereâs a 3-minute medication - by a PhD - to cool us all down.
This chart is from the Morning Brew newsletter.
Obviously, nobody is at fault - for the graphâs results.
In the meantime, Iâll patiently follow any CDC and WHO guidelines, as well as any federal, state, country and local laws. And I follow any advice and counsel, of folks from the Homeopathic, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Native American, Eastern, and spiritual healing communities.
And for the âdie-heartâ Trump fans here, complaining about Democrats delaying negotiations - for a day or two. Well, this is from Fox News - the âgold mineâ of Donaldâs reliable news sources. How do you justify this Republican stall tactic?
NY Times and LA Times are highly partisan. Their paywall disgusts me too. But that is another matter. Google disgusts because you cannot remove paywall sites from their suggest sites.
I have found AP the most reasonable. They stick to the facts.
And while we make our notes on CoVID-19 and talk about âreliableâ news sources over tea - we may need a âgoodâ pencil or two.
I got this from the BBC!!
(just kidding)
We have an enemy called COVID-19. And we all need to get behind the US and worldâs leaders, whoever they may currently be.
In the meantime, Iâm busy finding things - to cheer me up.
-
Like listening to Blues music this morning.
-
Scanning the BBC News and the World Weekly News, for the latest headlines.
-
And watching The Walking Dead tonight on AMC.
Not good, folks.
And perhaps as the âaspiringâ Holy FoolâŚand the anti-hero Negan (AKA The Walking Dead), who currently was walking with The Whisperers and the ZombiesâŚitâs time to walk with the enemy, to learn its ways.
Actually, no. Iâm more like this. I wouldnât go looking for the zombies, from Z-Hell (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) either. But if they found me, I might have enough knowledge and wisdom (and maybe even intuitive guidance) - to survive their bite. Hopefully!
Trump is pro-America, pro-all Americans. Those who donât like America are not going to like Trump
Heâs the best thing for us right now.
They donât want to let Biden out very often, because he is obviously getting demented. But when they let him out, they wonât ask a tough question. If Trump was accused of what this woman is accusing Trump of, that oh so fair BBC would have a huge headline. Biden - nah.
"Wary of President Trumpâs criticism that they were ungrateful for his management of the coronavirus crisis, governors of several of the hardest-hit states sought gingerly Sunday to avoid provoking him and risk losing desperately needed federal aid.
Despite the drastic shutdown of much of the country, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the governmentâs top infectious-disease specialist, warned Sunday that 100,000 to 200,000 Americans might die before the pandemic eases.
Several governors made clear they fear inadvertently harming their own citizens if they are too strident in demands for desperately needed medical supplies, or if they clash too publicly with Trump over pandemic policy as the contagion spreads.
So they took a new tack, articulating their statesâ needs while ignoring Trumpâs insults and demands.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer â who Trump has derided on Twitter as âhalf-Whitâ â touted her cooperative relationship with Vice President Mike Pence, who heads the White House coronavirus task force, and with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
âItâs gotta be all hands on deck â we shouldnât be fighting one another; we need to be fighting COVID-19 together,â Whitmer said on CNNâs âState of the Union,â referring to the disease caused by the coronavirus.
ââDonât call the woman in Michigan,ââ the president added, referring to Whitmer."
Trump does âadjustâ things, as needed.
And he does give his opinion on folks. Even folks from the UK, residing in Canada.
And how long does the UK think, it will take - to get back to normal?
At the press conference Fauci made later in the day, he repeated the death figure. I listened to him to get the wording because I could not find it in any written report online even though the initial alarming 100,000 to 200,000 death figure estimate for the USA was emblazoned almost everywhere online.
This is what Fauci said (or as close as I could get) later in the day.
âThe number I gave out is based on modelling if we do not mitigate to the extent that we are trying to do, that you could reach that number. Yah, yah, itâs possible. You could make a big sound bite about it, but itâs possible. What we are trying to do is not let that happen.â
He said a few more words after that but I got tired of going back to get his exact words. So, he claims the figure is based on not mitigating to the extent that they are trying to do. It is not the case that he feels the figure holds âDespite the drastic shutdown of much of the country.â
This is from todayâs Morning Brew. Very brief and good summary.
Anyway, many decades ago - I helped with maintenance work in college. One of the workers said he checked the newspaper obituaries each day. If he couldnât find his name, then it was a good day. Iâm going to start following this guidance, during the pandemic.
And hereâs a dedicated song, to reflect the current worldâs journey.
