How To Live Under An Unqualified President by John Piper

No ones knows yet but he did eek out the Rep Iowa nomination 100% to 0%.

I doubt it’s even close to that, more like 0.1%.

Thanks for the far right jargon. Does WS mean Wall Streeter?

Humility does not feel that it has the right to better treatment than Jesus got. Therefore, humility does not return evil for evil ~~ John Piper

This is great

Let’s see what’s right and wrong.

And on the Democratic front.

Oh, yes. Breaking news from Weekly World News.

I realize Trumps budget to cut SS over the next 10 years is a few billion. But when you compare that to the multi-trillions that will be spent over those years those billions are just pennies. He’s also given 3.9 billion this year for programs to help the mentally ill and homeless. Keep in mind this just one year. It’s 300 million more than what they usually give.

America was never a Christian nation in the beginning. Most were Deists when they wrote one nation under God. But they left it open for Christianity. America early on operated on Social Darwinism. It wasn’t until FDR came along with the Social Security Act that America started operating on Christian values. All Christian values spring from helping the disabled, suffering, disadvantaged, poor. This is the very core of Christian virtue.

I’m liking Buttigieg. He is one of the latest candidates to embrace capitalism in a Democratic primary race that is increasingly welcoming the concept of socialism. He’s also a Christian. What do you think of him Dave B.?

I’m liking Buttigieg’s Christian message on humility and grace. His views of Justice and humility are also in line with Biblical justice of restoration. In 2019, Buttigieg called for the U.S. to “decriminalize mental illness and addiction through diversion, treatment, and re-entry programs” with a goal of decreasing “the number of people incarcerated due to mental illness or substance use by 75% in the first term.”

Progressives hate the upper class. Listening to Bernie, he gives the impression that all wealthy are corrupt. This isn’t true. It’s a metaphysical necessity that there be hierarchys. Tear down that structure and we collapse.

Most of our founding fathers were Deists. This is what is referred to as the God of Nature. This is social Darwinism. America was social Darwinism in the begining. One nation under God but it allowed for Christians their freedom. It wasn’t until FDR came along and the Social security Act that we became based on Christian principles. The core center of Christian morality is compassion on the disadvantaged, disabled, poor, weak, mentally ill. Deism is the belief in a supreme being, who remains unknowable and untouchable. God is viewed as merely the “first cause” and underlying principle of rationality in the universe. Deists believe in a god of nature – a noninterventionist creator – who permits the universe to run itself according to natural laws.

But the widespread existence in 18th-century America of a school of religious thought called Deism complicates the actual beliefs of the Founders. Drawing from the scientific and philosophical work of such figures as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Isaac Newton, and John Locke, Deists argued that human experience and rationality—rather than religious dogma and mystery—determine the validity of human beliefs. In his widely read The Age of Reason , Thomas Paine, the principal American exponent of Deism, called Christianity “a fable.” Paine, the protégé of Benjamin Franklin, denied “that the Almighty ever did communicate anything to man, by…speech,…language, or…vision.” Postulating a distant deity whom he called “Nature’s God” (a term also used in the Declaration of Independence), Paine declared in a “profession of faith”:

The God of reason and Nature. This is Deism. Social Darwinism was early America. Non interventionist. It wasn’t until FDR and the Social Security Act that we became Christian principles. One nation under God is deism though it allows for freedom of religion (Christianity)

“I am aware there are people in my party who will strenuously disapprove of my decision, and I will be vehemently denounced. I am sure to hear abuse from the President and his supporters. Does anyone seriously believe I would consent to these consequences other than from an inescapable conviction that my oath before God demanded it of me?”

From Abilene Christian University, this was written at the time of the election. Since Trump has given 3.9 billion dollars for programs to help the mentally ill and homeless, we can say that he has indeed evolved beyond Social Darwinism like we did when FDR started the Social Security Act. Early America was Social Darwinist. The principles of the foundations of America are Deistic principles. This is the God of nature and reason of the Enlightenment. He doesn’t intervene in the lives of people. They let nature take its course. if you were, disadvantaged, poor, mentally ill, disabled and not able to take care of yourself you were left to die. This would bring on the great depression and FDR intervened and established the Christian principles of intervening and helping the elderly, sick, poor disabled. This is the core of Christian value. Trump has evolved somewhat but his Right wing follower haven’t they are social Darwinists. “Pull yourself up” Self improvement aggressive. They say the rich strong powerful are the ones to gain more power, wealth. They survive. The weak, poor disabled die. It’s survival of the fittest with inflated self esteem and aggressiveness and bullying.

Now, this is interesting, from today’s Pathoes Evangelical newsletter. As it concerns a “favorite” news station, of some from this thread.

And I would have NEVER expected this.

Not that long ago Republicans called Romney a winner running against Obama.
We’ll see what he will be called now.

I always thought Romney had character. He shouldn’t be called names. What’d he do to animals??
