Time, April 20, reported an interview of FDA commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottileb, as beginning warnings on Dec. 31, and speaking to administration officials beginning Jan. 18, and writing multiple op-eds about the need to scale up U.S. testing capacity fast.

Fauci was interviewed on Feb 18th by USA Today and he said the risk of getting Corona was relatively low and he didn’t sound particularly alarmed.

Does a bigger moron exist then Pelosi? In the State of the Union, Trump referenced the virus but Pelosi ripped up her copy of the speech so she may have missed because she was sleeping during the speech.

All the churches I ever attended (Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican, etc.), pray for the president and state governor. No matter who is currently in office. What they do or don’t do, affects us. While I am more “Trump neutral” (although I like to join in the fun against him)…what’s good enough for the churches to publicly pray for, is good enough for me.

These “professionals” you cite had their personal opinions assuming the story is even true but even if it is , you don’t immediately shut down an economy, quarantine the population etc based on a trade guy sending a memo and a couple of people expressing great concern. The move Trump made , banning travel from China was dramatic and the reason it wasn’t more effective was because of something no one could have foreseen. Many Chinese businesspeople traveled to Italy for tradeshows & other business & Italy got infected and passed it on & travelers from Europe brought it here. Trump did ban travel from Europe later but it was to late to stop the virus. I thought he acted appropriately & let’s not forget how long it took Obama to do anything against the Swine Flu, months, but Obama was never criticized. How odd?

My recent examples cite no trade guy, only the judgment of responsible professional medical personnel and those charged with the security of our people and economy. What they called for was not shutting down the economy but e.g. washing hands, ramping up ability to test, production and distribution of equipment and protective supplies vital to handling a pandemic, that is still not being well managed.
The truth about how many foresaw and warned of such contagion (including those on the pandemic task force that Trump killed) won’t remain hidden or spun. I see Trump’s constant refusal to do the requested things, or to heed those most knowledgeable about such a threat, and his repeated insistence that this would quickly go away as irresponsible and very harmful to our nation’s welfare.
When a politician hungry to retain power insists that the only “metric” that must be given “total authority” to stop mitigation safeguards is solely his own gut, I’d trust our nation’s epidemic experts metrics more.

The impeachment proceedings didn’t end until Feb 5th, every Dem would have accused Trump of distracting, of creating panic to further himself, to make up a crisis to hide his real intentions.

My knowledge of this statement is totally reliant on watching Trump say it on FOX at his daily ninety minute briefing. When you ask others to just consider what they witness with their own eyes to be complete nonsense, you lose all credibility. It doesn’t challenge any presented reality at all.
