How To Live Under An Unqualified President by John Piper

So now there is an obviously senile old man, a man who has compromised his authority as US Veep, in the -Stan country and in China, a serial sniffer, being backed (finally and unwillingly) by a far-left ex prez who apologized for America, gave $150B to our enemies and funders of terrorism, who tried to tell us we had a 'new normal’of job outsourcing that would never come back, who blew the swine flu thing, who screwed our troops - remember Benghazi? etc etc - running against a Prez who works tirelessly FOR the US, even if imperfectly.
Wow what a hard choice to make.
And you - whoever you are - are still a Democrat??

Nothing like another thoughtful analysis of the actual issues at stake in our nation

Stop at nothing:

" President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign slammed an attack ad by Priorities USA, the super PAC backed by George Soros, which criticizes Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic by using deceptively edited quotes from briefings and the news media.

The ad, “Front Lines,” attempts to blame President Trump for shortages of medical equipment, such as masks and ventilators. (In fact, despite early concerns, there has been no nationwide shortage, and the U.S. is projected to have an oversupply of some key equipment.)

The ad begins by showing Trump saying, “[T]hrowing away of the mask right away — they’re thrown away, and I keep saying, ‘How is it possible to use so much?’”

The ad splices two separate comments from one briefing (March 21) to suggest a callous disregard for equipment needs."

And this:

It’s nice to know that Cuomo and his fellow leftists don’t support a monarchy. I think it was about 15 minutes ago that they demanded that the President nationalize various companies, institute a nationwide shelter-in-place order, spend trillions of dollars nationalizing the state governments’ debt, appoint a high-ranking general in charge of all supply decisions, etc., etc.

Indeed, it is President Trump who has been careful and prudential in his exercise of federal authority, for which these same fools relentlessly attacked him, and who abandoned the Constitution long ago. Mark Levin

Meanwhile, Trump doesn’t like the WHO. Blame any bad decisions on someone else.

And this is an interesting question.

And so is this question.

It is the WHO’s job & reason to exist & reason they get funding to monitor the health of the world & they did not call this a pandemic until March.

Well, it raises two questions:

  • What is the definition of a pandemic?

  • What are the criteria for declaring it so?

Let me quote one of the WHO officials in February.

“Our decision about whether to use the word ‘pandemic’ to describe an epidemic is based on an ongoing assessment of the geographical spread of the virus, the severity of the disease it causes and the impact it has on the whole society,” he adds.

The WHO says that since there’s still uncertainty about the disease’s impact, most countries still have only a few cases, and containment is not yet hopeless, the word “pandemic” isn’t appropriate yet. But many observers have disagreed with the WHO’s decision, believing that what we’re seeing unfold now fits the definition of the word.

Now, what is Trump’s criteria, for declaring it a US pandemic? And why do some think, it is late in coming?

I’m not saying that either WHO nor Trump, were right in calling the shots. But you have to answer the two questions, I posed first.

To be fair Cuomo has been conciliatory and reasonable but he does need Federal help and once this period ends we will see if this continues.

Besides my 2 questions:

  • What is the definition of a pandemic?
  • What are the criteria for declaring it so?

What does the AMA say?

Trump’s insists, “I’m the only one that can fix it” and I have “total authority” over the states, and then regularly blames everyone else on the front lines, and insists he has ‘no responsibility’ for any problem.

With many nurses and doctors laying down their lives for others and dying because they hugely lack adequate protection, to have the Commander in chief rip on them for not wanting to break all medical standards and keep using virus infected materials from room to room is shameful. Such a narcissistic obsession focused on promoting himself becomes tiresome.

Isn’t this incredibly surprising? Not lol

And, good for DT:
As evidence grows that the World Health Organization colluded with the People’s Republic of China to downplay the impact and spread of the Chinese Virus, resulting in the death of many thousands in the United States, calls have mounted to defund WHO.

President Trump stepped forward to cut off funding to the discredited organization.

As with so much of the UN, the United States funds much of its corrupted organizational infrastructure. Trump’s move to cut off the cash flow to WHO is a vital act of accountability. The WHO leadership has refused to answer basic questions, instead Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO boss, has resorted to false accusations of racism aimed at China’s victims, like Taiwan.

As past administrations have learned, the only form of pressure that the UN responds to in any way is financial.

The United States finances much of the UN, yet is unable to exert any influence over its vast rotten bureaucracy except by going to the mattresses and cutting off the cash.

Trump’s effort to blame most everyone else and defund united international efforts to respond to a worldwide threat in the very middle of a pandemic is quite predictably consistent with his insistence
that each nation and its leader should put their own interests ahead of all their neighbors.

What does the BBC have to say?

And from the Patheos’ newsletter.

No, the fact is Trump was correct in that the US just throws money at organizations like the WHO which spends half it’s budget on travel. The WHO sounds pretty corrupt from what I have heard and shown itself to be thoroughly in China’s pocket to the expense of everyone else.
The US should pay it’s fair share not 10 times what China paid & then get hosed. All you can see is “hate Trump” and that’s about it.

Actually Taiwan warned the WHO about this virus in December but the WHO can’t acknowledge Taiwan because the WHO is China’s puppet.

Bob, you are becoming tiresome. Sorry, but it’s true.

I affirm that part. Our world’s failure to work together on a threat to all nations is sad and shameful.

Well, we have “good news” - according to President Trump.

Let’s sing a song together, shall we? Question: Is the COVID-19 virus, hiding inside the cake?

Question: If the WHO is helping other countries, fight the COVID-19 virus. Shouldn’t we wait to withhold funding, until the COVID-19 pandemic is over?

I’m glad that you find me consistent in my observations of what’s true.
Thank you for being an encourager.

Now, this is interesting.
