Joshua Tongol and Penal Substitution

Anyone heard of this young man?

Funny . . . I tried to watch that last night, but there was too much going on in the house. I’ll have another look.

I’m listened to a few of Tongol’s sermon-jams. He’s a good speaker, but I’m confused as to his theology - he seems to mix liberal or emergent Christianity with word-faith-healing spiritual warfare. I think his views are changing - and I think he may have done something on universalism one time. I’d say he isn’t ‘settled’ into a view point yet - probably his age. He might have been better to start preaching when older - but what do I know.

I listen to him a lot and through him I have come into contact with a bunch of other “hyper-grace teachers”. Turned out to be just what I needed. Anyway, as per Josh, he is big into grace, healing and questioning institutional teachings. I don’t know if he’s taught me anything exactly, but he has helped UN-teach and untangle some stuff.

Here is a link sent to me by my brother in law where Tongol is at least laying the groundwork for a universalist belief. It is certainly not a comprehensive presentation, but he asks a lot of good questions. He presents all people as being born again at the ascension of Christ.
