Love and Joy

I was asking the Lord for more of Him this morning, to speak a word to me. He told me that He loved me. I tried to move on, like I duh I already knew that. He kept me there for a minute, and allowed me to dwell and realize that with all my failures He loves me, I am His son in whom He is well pleased.

He allowed me to move on to Joy. The biggest joy in my life is watching my wife and daughter love each other. Yes I love my special times with them, but the greatest Joy is just watching them love each other.

I tried to move on to peace, but He wouldn’t let me. Love and Joy, Love and Joy, Love and Joy.

If my joy as an earthly father is to watch love between my to most beloved, I can only imagine the joy our heavenly father feels to watch the love between us.

The greatest is love, all the fruits proceed from love, love is from God, God is love.

I just wanted to share this word with you all, I love you all deeply.

Love it.

It reminds me of a book I’m reading, The Anatomy of the Soul (about neuroscience and Christian spirituality). The author, Curt Thompson says:

“We have failed to see that this need to be right, to be rationally orderly and correct, subtly but effectively prevents us from the experience of being known, of loving and being loved, which is the highest call of humanity.”

Now abide these three: faith, hope and love. But the greatest one is love.

Josh the need to be right is what is the driver I believe behind God laying that out for me (at least one of the issues). I’ve been struggling with some doctrinal issues lately and this morning was the a perfect counter to that.

This is how the world will know you’re my disciples when you love one another.

Probably the most basic thing that is taught and made spread in Christianity is the concept of love for others.

It also seems to have surpassed a lot of other boundaries, or at least how love should be seen in normal ways, so that things will always work for the better.

Coming to think of it, love is exactly what we need in order to provide ourselves with the concept of coming together as one.
