God is love and Jesus is the exact imprint and image of God. Therefore, Jesus is love.
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; ~~ Hebrews 1:3
At the baptism of Christ God (love) was well pleased in His own image (the Son) who is love.
and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17
God delights in His own image. Love delights in the Son. God has emotion. Since God is love then love has emotion.
