Steve,
I did add support to Michael’s claims when I wrote…
The church was chosen in Jesus Christ from before the foundation of the world (Ephesian 1:4). No man can come to Christ except the Father draw him (John 6:44). All that have been given to Christ by the Father come to him (John 6:37). The Pharisees would not come to Christ, because they were not his sheep (John 10:26). In the fullness of time, all will be reconciled to Christ (Ephesians 1:10), but only the elect Church in this age.
Michael said that all are predestined to be with God. How is this contradictory? Some are elected to salvation in this life (the sheep who hear Christ’s voice and follow him, John 10:27) while others are not appointed unto salvation in this life (those who are not his sheep), but will ultimately be reconciled to Christ (Eph 1:10; Col 1:20). Thus, ultimately all are predestined to salvation in Jesus Christ; some in this life and some in the age to come.
