The Evangelical Universalist Forum

New book recommendation from amazon

I just got a notification today recommending a new book titled: Dropping Hell and embracing Grace: answering those questions they didnt want us to ask concerning heaven, hell and hope for the ultimate salvation of all humanity.
It only has a few reviews, but they look positive; including one from someone who self-identifies as a new testament translator.
By Ivan A. Rogers. Foreword by pastor Glen Moyer.

I’m going to check it out.

Yeah, I ordered that one myself awhile back  I haven’t read it yet, but when I get around to it, I’ll let you know what I think.

Blessings

It gets endorsements from some familiar faces; including Gerry Beauchemin, and even Dr. Roger E. Olsen, who, though he does not agree with the central tenet of the book (universalism) says that the author’s arguments are worth considering.

The author is a church pastor who is also a retired executive officer of an evangelical denomination.

Yeah, I’ve talked with Gerry Beauchemin on the phone a few times, and in one of our conversations I mentioned Roger’s book, and he said there was a couple things in Roger’s theology that he disagreed with, but he still endorsed the book because there was a lot more that he did agree with, and thought all in all it was a good book, and contributed to the UR discussion.

One of these days I’ll get around to reading it.

I started reading it today, and I’m getting the impression that this is the book that “The Hour We least expected” should have been…

Sounds good  I’ll be sure to check it out eventually, when I get to it on my shelf
