“Heaven…a place where everything that is not music is silence.” -George MacDonald-

“I have never known more than fifteen minutes of anxiety or fear. Whenever I feel fearful emotions overtaking me, I just close my eyes and thank God that He is still on the throne reigning over everything and I take comfort in His control over the affairs of my life.” -John Wesley-

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right-doing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” Rumi

Reminds me a bit, of the Eastern Church view of the atonement.

Here’s the Catholic view.

“I like a cook who smiles out loud when he tastes his own work. Let God worry about your modesty; I want to see your enthusiasm.” - Robert Farrar Capon-

A mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work if it is not open."-- Frank Zappa

“We have considered the traditions of Christendom which darken this subject and found them unscriptural. My love to God and my admiration have increased unutterably since I have seen that He is not the defeated fiend of Christendom, but is fully able to cope with evil and sin, and bind them all to the chariot wheels of love. All His attributes, including holiness, and righteousness, serve in the livery of love. Adored be His Name!” -A.E. Knoch

“Annihilation is the triumph of death over life: it is the very antithesis to the gospel, which asserts the triumph of Christ over every form of death.” -Christ Triumphant-

“In the coming debates over the nation’s future, a return to natural law is the most secure way to fight against the legal chaos that has destroyed the rule of law. We must explore natural law notions of self-defense, private property, and even national sovereignty. This law will direct us to God, who made both us and the natural law.” John Horvat

It is a good practice to stop from time to time and come to the present to see That which you miss seeing in the rush. The reality reveals itself only when we take a pause and breathe with awareness. The revelation does not come in the future, it is all in the freshness of the Now. Truth, God can not be known, it is revealed, it is pure Grace! ~~Bodhi

“I see Jesus in every human being. I say to myself, this is hungry Jesus, I must feed him. This is sick Jesus. This one has leprosy or gangrene; I must wash him and tend to him. I serve because I love Jesus.” -Mother Teresa-

“Never grow a wishbone, daughter, where your backbone ought to be.”-- Clementine Paddleford

“My deepest awareness of myself is that I am deeply loved by Jesus Christ and I have done nothing to earn it or deserve it.” - Brennan Manning- (The Ragamuffin Gospel)

“In a futile attempt to erase our past, we deprive the community of our healing gift. If we conceal our wounds out of fear and shame, our inner darkness can neither be illuminated nor become a light for others.” - Brennan Manning- (Abba’s Child: The Cry of the Heart for Intimate Belonging)

“All of us are born for a reason, but all of us don’t discover why. Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others.”-- Danny Thomas

“Punish a man for his sins, that is just: punish him for ages…that may be just: but make no end of punishing him for that sin, reduce him from a man to a devil, let him become for ever vile, that is not just. The only justice to a sinner in a case like our human one is mercy, is to make his punishment finite according to his works…and of such a nature as not simply to torment the man, but to drive him back to the way of God.” -. T. P. Forsyth M.A.

“Most of us were taught that God would love us if and when we change. In fact, God loves you so that you can change. What empowers change, what makes you desirous of change is the experience of love. It is that inherent experience of love that becomes the engine of change.” -Richard Rohr-

“Every time God forgives us, God is saying that God’s own rules do not matter as much as the relationship that God wants to create with us.” - Richard Rohr (Falling Upward)

“Faith does not need to push the river because faith is able to trust that there is a river. The river is flowing. We are in it." -Richard Rohr-

Did you see a calm lake?

No ripples.

Just calm.

Can you not see the reflections

Of everything around?

Everything is still.

Quiet, calm and tranquil.

You are witnessing.

Your inside is quiet.

No ripples

Of stressful life

Or survival anxieties.

You are not meditating.

Meditation is descending in you,

Like morning dew.

You are experiencing the aura of your silence—Calm, pure awareness.

No efforts.

No agendas.

No goals.

Nowhere to reach.

You are Home!

Be still

And all is Yours!

~~Bodhi

“There is an essential connection between experiencing God, loving God, and trusting God. You will trust God only as much as you love him. And you will love him to the extent you have touched him, rather that he has touched you.”

(Brennan Manning, The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out)

“Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you.”-- L.R. Knost
