Quote for today

That’s quite the quote, FL!
Can you tell me where in GMD’s works that is found?

“The lotus is the most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one. But it will only grow in the mud. In order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must have the mud — the obstacles of life and its suffering. … The mud speaks of the common ground that humans share, no matter what our stations in life. … Whether we have it all or we have nothing, we are all faced with the same obstacles: sadness, loss, illness, dying and death. If we are to strive as human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness and more compassion, we must have the intention to grow as a lotus and open each petal one by one. ” -Goldie -Hawn-

“The world…is full of resurrections… Every night that folds us up in darkness is a death; and those of you that have been out early, and have seen the first of the dawn, will know it - the day rises out of the night like a being that has burst its tomb and escaped into life.” - George MacDonald-

We are all surrounded inside and outside by an invisible field of divine grace. All the time. Even in deep sleep. Then why do we have to pray for it to descend? That is the divine design. The path opens when we feel the cool breeze on a hot summer day. The Grace touches you and you are awake to touch it. This is divine touch. Whenever fear comes to consume you, touch base with the grace field. Assure yourself that the power of Grace is more than all fears of the world put together.

Grace alone is the reality! Grace and God are One!

“The only kind of love that helps anyone grow is unconditional love.” -Brennan Manning-

“The confessing church of American Ragamuffins needs to join Magdalene and Peter in witnessing that Christianity is not primarily a moral code but a grace-laden mystery; it is not essentially a philosophy of love but a love affair; it is not keeping rules with clenched fists but receiving a gift with open hands.” -Brennan Manning-

That Jesus has two natures is one of the most mischievous fictions of theology. The divine and the human are not two. — from Donal Grant by George MacDonald

May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been the foresight to know where you’re going and the insight to know when you’re going too far."-- Irish Blessing

All those evil doctrines about God that work misery and madness have their origin in the brains of the wise and prudent, not in the hearts of children.

“Do you believe that the God of Jesus loves you beyond worthiness and unworthiness, beyond fidelity and infidelity—that he loves you in the morning sun and in the evening rain—that he loves you when your intellect denies it, your emotions refuse it, your whole being rejects it. Do you believe that God loves without condition or reservation and loves you this moment as you are and not as you should be.” - Brennan Manning-

So which is it, Hollytree?

Are the evil doctrines about God working misery and madness false, originating with “wise” people, and not in hearts of his children as GMD taught? Or are our miseries and afflictions ordained by God as Pink taught?

The Voice of Job in Unspoken Sermons by George MacDonald

The maker of Job was so much greater than Job, that his ways with him might well be beyond his comprehension! God’s thoughts were higher than his thoughts, as the heavens were higher than the earth!

The true child, the righteous man, will trust absolutely, against all appearances, the God who has created in him the love of righteousness.

God does not, I say, tell Job why He had afflicted him: He rouses his child-heart to trust.

Any man, like Job, plead his cause with God - though possibly it may not be to like justification: he gives us liberty to speak, and will hear with absolute fairness. But, blessed be God, the one result for all who so draw nigh to him will be - to see him plainly, surely right, the perfect Saviour, the profoundest refuge even from the wrongs seeing him, they will abhor themselves, and rejoice in him. And as the poem indicates, when we turn from ourselves to him, becoming true…

“The outstretched arms of Jesus exclude no one, not the drunk in the doorway, the panhandler on the street, gays and lesbians in their isolation, the most selfish and ungrateful in their cocoons, the most unjust of employers and the most overweening of snobs. The love of Christ embraces all without exception.” -Brennan Manning-

Just relax and enjoy not quarantine but quiet time in the recess of your heart! Breathe with love, let every cell of your lungs tell you that they are healed. Take each day at a time and live in Love and not fear. To live in fear of death is death itself. To live in love is to be Alive!
Live to be alive to Mother Earth and her exquisite beauty! ~~Bodhi

A song to sing during these days:

Troublesome times are here, filling men’s hearts with fear
Freedom we all hold dear now is at stake
Humbling your hearts to God saves from the chastening rod
Seek the way pilgrims trod, Christians awake

Jesus is coming soon, morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound

Troubles will soon be o’er, happy forevermore
When we meet on that shore, free from all care
Rising up in the sky, telling this world goodbye
Homeward we then shall fly, glory to share

Oh, Jesus is coming soon, morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound

Jesus is coming soon, morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound
Heavenward bound, heavenward bound.

Author R. E. Winsett. Sung by Johnny Cash and others.
