Here’s a poem I wrote inspired by the first three chapters of Genesis:
In the beginning,
there was light in the dark,
and the waters were deep…
Down in the dust of the earth,
there was life,
waiting to breath, waiting to be…
And death advanced quickly to strike
as life arose, naked and trembling,
yet love advanced at greater speed,
covering life,
covering nakedness and fear,
and loved proved stronger than death…
