Spiritual Warfare

Hay all,

We just uploaded our most recent episode of Higher Ground TV.

We talked about the weapons of our warfare and how they are found in the joy of the Lord, unconditional love, a spirit of meekness and trust.

Had some trouble with the aspect ratio of the video, but the content is still the same.

Sorry, watched about 15 minutes of this, including the excruciating ‘musical interlude’. Rambling, incoherent, disjointed, amateurish nonsense. I’m sure Steve’s heart is in the right place, but any agnostic watching this is going to be leaping for the off switch.

Hey, Steve’s my pastor, and my friend, Johnny

And that’s the show you saw me on…

I do a fair bit of preaching and one thing I’ve learned is this: What one person will find brilliant, another will find ridiculous. I’ve also found that listening to other people. A talk I find seriously annoying etc, others will find wonderful. Basically, it’s a funny old world, and you really can’t please everyone.

Your right Allan it is hard to please everyone and Johnny I’ve got to admit it did get off to a rough start. I was trying to encourage one of the ladies in our church who was wanting to sing. However, things did pick up a little after that first fifteen minutes. Sorry I lost you on that. If you have a better idea for the opening I’m not to proud to hear what you might think.

Hi Steve

Thanks for your gracious response. My rudeness doesn’t warrant it. I know how hard it is to stand up and preach; sometimes the words come smoothly, other times they don’t  . Please don’t be discouraged from your excellent work by my stupidity. My head is not in a great place right now. I’m angry with God and angry with myself. Sorry.

All the best

Johnny

That’s alright Johnny, As far as any struggles you are going through, we all have roads we have to travel, as dark as they may be at times. It’s not for others to try and fit your shoes and fix that path. However, we can pray for each other, that the load of the journey may get a little lighter.

Thanks Steve. When times are at their darkest one of the things which stops me from being completely cast adrift from my spiritual moorings is the kindness of others - especially the kindness of folk on this forum. If materialism is true and we are simply spiralling coils of self-replicating DNA, why do we care so much about others? Why do we love? My hope is that the answer is we love because we were made by a God who is love.

Thanks for your kindness. It means a lot.

The Apostle Paul said that " hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

Hang on to that hope bro. It’s taking you the right way.

That’s awesome how you guys were able to work things out, I commend you and salute you

Ah, yeah, we gotta break the new Mod in gently, right?

Now, what was that somebody was saying about Benny Hinn?
