The Hell on Earth View - a subset of UR

The worshippers of reason and intellect always love this which is one my favorite Fenelon quotes.

“Reason should not undertake to comprehend the last destructions; they are ordained expressly to destroy our reason.”

Yes, there is a place in God where one goes about the business of life not doing alot of thinking. It is as if He is carrying you. It is lovely … a lovely foreshadow of an approaching greater experience.

Damn, John - you’re the one who’s on fire tonight! Go dude! Throw all the straw in the fire!

Everything about God is reasonable and can be understood logically. The problem is understanding the presuppositions behind them, the presuppositions may not appear to be logically and reasonably attained because most of the time they are not. Example: being a sinner who is saved by a man who dies is not logical or reasonable.

However, the mystics of the past who are against knowledge and reason demonstrate their lack of faith by denouncing it, they just demonstrate their lack of knowledge and fear that what they believe will be disproved.

Light that strawman up
