Hi Matt, Cindy and Sonia, and all;
I am so happy Sonia and Cindy you liked on Beneath The Stars . You will gathe, as I add some of my poems to share that my family we all love the mountains! Here is one written after my son and I had spent a long morning gathering wild mushrooms up a steepish mountain slope and rested just above the tree level …well,the rest is the poem!
Three in One?
I can see three people sitting here
On this rock emerging from the forest
Where for several tiring hours
We have scoured and searched the ground
Finding ceps, lactarius, chanterelles.
My son and I, quietly sitting now
Contemplate the firs and pines below,
Long pleated skirts of varied green,
Splashed haphazardly with colour,
Mostly red and gold from Autumn frosts,
Birch, beech, hazel,oak and larch.
A third and common spirit binds us both;
Enlightened thus, as one we sit enthroned.
