What about Ezekiel 18:4,20

So? Many Jews believe in the resurrection of the wicked as well as of the good. If God slays the unjust until (as Deuteronomy puts it) they are neither slave nor free, that doesn’t prevent (as subsequently in the same Deuteronomy prophecy) the unjust from finally repenting, returning to God, and being restored by God.

God wounds, and God heals; God slays, and God brings to life again. That portion of Ezekiel isn’t the whole story, although it’s certainly an important part in itself.

That statement is true (it’s scripture), but does not make universalism false. The whole point of the resurrection is that death is not final, and is not the end of the story.

God promises resurrection to people of whom He says “their shade shall not rise”…somewhere in Isaiah.
death is not the end, for any of us!

also, i would raise him a Lamentations 3:31…that trumps everything

Jeff, this verse is talking about temporal death. If it were talking about eternal death, I would be worried. For my soul has sinned… :open_mouth:

well said…this would apply to everyone. and in fact it does, we DO all die…but it’s not permanent!
