How To Live Under An Unqualified President by John Piper

The impeachment of Clinton helped his popularity, I think the same thing happens here.

I too think that’s apt to happen, and especially among Trump supporters. Time will tell.

One possible difference for those in the middle is that an accused Clinton confessed he’d done deep wrong, and then ignoring GOP’s impeachment attack, he pivoted as his popularity sagged to embrace programs that more conservative Republicans would support and achieved much bipartisan progress.

Trump possibly will pivot like this in his second term, or even close to the election, but I’m less sure he has that kind of political animal in him like Clinton did. And I don’t envision him winsomely reaching out to moderates by confessing that he has flaws. It may change, but I see his personality intent on pursuing a more partisan style to enthuse his base.

Apparently it IS helping him, judging by the number of Independents and Dems who are vocal about it. I noticed also that black folks are 4 times more favorable to DT than for any 'Republican" prez in modern history. I’m sure economics helps with that, plus the deplorable record in our largest cities of Dem mayorship. Shameful. Still, whether all these factors can overcome the amount of illegal immigrants who will vote Democrat and will vote illegally with Dem help remains to be seen.

"As we have seen, though, the way the media has treated Saudi Arabia is different. Over the last several months, there is a clear and palpable desire among the left-wing press and Democrat politicians to break not just the multi-generational U.S.-Saudi relationship, but to replace its leadership structure and interfere with its line of succession.

For these obsessives, the villain and the narrative are always the same; it’s the details that keep changing. Already, some professional Twitter trolls like Bill Kristol and Ed Krassenstein have begun fixating on Saudi Arabia as a possible next furious locus of the president’s alleged seditious treachery. “He might not be a Russian agent,” they might say, with increasing desperation, “but he’s a pawn of the Saudis.”

Here’s the latest from the BBC. I’m sure everyone knows this already.

But here’s some other news.

Certainly this is not true for ‘each person’ who is a leftist - but we do see these hatreds almost daily, month after month.

Dennis Prager:
I never thought I’d see the day when the Salvation Army would be hated by a substantial number of Americans or lose the support of a Christian-run business.

But given the Left’s loathing of virtually all things good — such as America, Israel, traditional Christianity and Judaism, the Boy Scouts, the nuclear-family ideal, Thanksgiving and America’s founders — it is not surprising.

As I have said for years, the left destroys everything it touches: music, art, Christianity, Judaism, economies, universities, high schools, late-night comedy, pro football, women’s likelihood of finding happiness, men’s likelihood of maturing, the Boy Scouts and the innocence of children (think “Drag Queen Story Hour” for 5-year-olds at libraries), to cite some of the more obvious examples.

And while it destroys good institutions, the left never builds a viable replacement. Is there a left-wing equivalent to the Boy Scouts, a left-wing institution that helps mold boys into responsible men? Of course not. The left destroys, but it builds nothing — except state power. Or, to take the present example, is there a left-wing equivalent to the Salvation Army? No, there isn’t.

Yet, leftists — most especially LGBTQ groups, which spread a remarkable amount of hate in the name of “love” — seek to crush The Salvation Army. They threaten and pressure whoever supports the Salvation Army.

And they are not ASHAMED to admit this? Gads. You and I are paying for this circus, remember.
The following statement would be the end of justice and democracy - no matter which of us it was used against, no matter which Presidents it was used against. It must not be allowed to stand.

" The House Judiciary Committee released a report Saturday in which it argued that a president may be impeached for “illegitimate motives” even if his actions are “legally permissible.”

The 52-page report, written by 20 members of the staff for the Democratic majority, attempts to provide a legal and constitutional basis for the Democrats’ ongoing effort to impeach the president.

The report states: “The question is not whether the President’s conduct could have resulted from permissible motives. It is whether the President’s real reasons , the ones in his mind at the time, were legitimate.”

That novel theory is only one of several questionable features of the report." Follow the link if you are actually interested in the truth of this thing.

Yeah yeah, it’s Breitbart but so? If you can prove them wrong, please do!! I’d like to know it also.

They have Twitter power fanned by the media but if they (leftists)were simply ignored but disputed by the Salvation Army & others when opportunities arise , their (leftists) power would fade away.
It’s not real power, it’s perception and if it doesn’t get an immediate knockout i think it melts away.

Who was that?

The Christian Century’s view of this thread’s theme

So just so I’m on the same page, you are against the Congressmans view… You said: “A GOP Congressman has proposed a bill that would ban discrimination against LGBTs. Hopefully it doesn’t become law.”
I’m just trying to get it right, if you are for or against the laws that discriminate against LGBT and such?

" The American public often is reminded, usually by Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and their loyalists in the American news media, that Obama’s eight-year reign was “scandal-free.” Of course, that is nowhere near the truth. From the “Fast and Furious” gun-running scam and IRS targeting of Tea Party activists to the egregious Benghazi terror attack cover-up two months before the 2012 election, the Obama Administration was among the most corrupt in U.S. history. And they have laughed all the way to Martha’s Vineyard and the Democratic presidential debate stage.

So truth-seekers should be gratified that on one day—Monday, December 9, 2019—the spin and subterfuge that the Obama White House successfully employed to hide their rampant malfeasance started to collapse under the full weight of its deceit and hubris.

Three scandals—the Russian collusion hoax, Burisma, and the disastrous Afghanistan war—blew up in their self-proclaimed “scandal-free” faces."

It’s good news week?

I believe discrimination against anyone is illegal because of race, religion or gender so having special classes of people get special protection IMO is a bad and short sighted idea.

Steve to Chad.

I wonder if this view extends to zombies from Z-Hell (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), if and when they arrive?

Seems inconsistent.

Even if they had gender reassignment surgery?

I guess I am not as outraged as you over this.

While Monday’s impeachment hearing was proceeding on Capitol Hill, President Donald Trump used a White House roundtable meeting to promote a school choice bill that aimed to open up educational choices for millions of “forgotten children” who are “locked into a school system that’s terrible.”

“Now is the time to fight for the forgotten child, and that’s what we are doing with respect to education,” said President Donald Trump, joined by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and several students and teachers who utilize state-level school choice programs. “For decades, countless children have been trapped in failing government schools. In my administration, these children are forgotten no longer.”

The proposed Education Freedom Scholarships is a $5 billion program that would help families to cover the cost of attending a private or public grade K-12 school of their choice or pay for supplemental educational products such as online classes and after-school tutoring, among other things.

Another thing well done. Mr. President.
